Grilling Tips For Diabetic Meal Plans
Here are some great grilling tips for your diabetic meal plan...
VEGETABLES
If you are a big outdoor grilling fan and like vegetables, try quartering a fresh zuccini, yellow squash, or other vegetable. Place them on foil on your grill. Spray with butter flavor spray and sprinkle with lemmon pepper. Allow to sit about 15 to 20 minutes on grill or enough to get semi-soft or just hot if you prefer. This is very tasty with a meal.
APPLES
Also take any apples that you dont want to waste cut in eight's core and leave skin on(personal choice)place on foil sprinkle with apple pie spice(liberally)then close foil up as to seal it by folding together then place on grill for about twenty minutes. Remove and sprinkle with nutra-sweet. Very yummy !
CORN
Roasting ears are a favorite. Get ears of corn with the husks still on. Wash in water and allow water to get in between leaves of husk (do not dry). Wrap in foil, husk and all. Twist ends closed. Place on grill for about 30 minutes. (more if you like it more well done). All grilling times are figured on a Propane grill with the lid shut (inside temperature is about 300 degrees). If you do not have a grill the oven will do.
